Adult Anorexia Nervosa

Recovery Doesn't Begin with Perfection. It Begins with Feeling Understood.

If eating feels stressful, food is constantly on your mind, or you're exhausted from trying to control every bite, please know you're not alone. Living with anorexia nervosa can be incredibly isolating. You may feel torn between wanting to get better and feeling afraid of what recovery might look like.

Many adults tell me they feel like no one truly understands what they're going through. Some have struggled for years, while others have found their eating disorder becoming more severe during stressful life changes, pregnancy, illness, or major transitions. No matter how long you've been struggling, you deserve compassionate, evidence-based care.

Recovery isn't about forcing yourself to eat or taking away control. It's about helping you rebuild trust in your body, improve your health safely, and find freedom from the constant mental exhaustion that an eating disorder creates.

At Kendra's Kustom Nutrition, I believe recovery should be personalized and move at a pace that feels safe while still making meaningful progress. We'll work together to understand your unique challenges, fears, and goals while building a plan that supports both your physical and emotional healing.

Together we may work on:

  • Restoring consistent nourishment without overwhelming you
  • Challenging food rules and fear foods over time
  • Rebuilding trust in hunger and fullness cues
  • Improving energy, concentration, and overall health
  • Understanding the nutrition science behind recovery
  • Monitoring progress in a way that supports healing—not perfection

I also believe that eating disorder recovery works best when your healthcare team is working together. With your permission, I'm happy to collaborate with your therapist, physician, psychiatrist, or other providers so everyone is supporting the same goals. If laboratory work or medical monitoring is needed, we'll discuss what information will help guide your care and keep your recovery safe.

You don't have to have everything figured out before asking for help. Whether you've been struggling for months or many years, my goal is to meet you where you are—with compassion, without judgment, and with the belief that recovery is possible.

You deserve a life where food no longer controls your thoughts, your relationships, or your future. Together, we'll take one step at a time toward helping you feel stronger, healthier, and more at peace with food and your body.
