Adult Picky Eating Disordered Specialist
Adult Picky Eating & Selective Eating Support
Have you spent your whole life hearing, "Just try it," "You're too picky," or "You'll eat it if you're hungry enough?"
If so, you're probably tired of feeling misunderstood.
Maybe eating out with friends causes anxiety because you're worried there won't be anything you'll eat. Holidays and family gatherings feel stressful instead of enjoyable. Traveling becomes difficult because you're unsure what food will be available. You may even avoid work lunches, dates, or social events because you don't want attention drawn to your eating habits.
If this sounds familiar, I want you to know you're not alone—and you're certainly not the only adult struggling with selective eating.
For many people, this isn't about being stubborn or refusing to try new foods. Food texture, smell, appearance, past experiences, anxiety, or sensory sensitivities can all make eating feel overwhelming. After years of hearing criticism or feeling embarrassed, it's understandable that food has become a source of stress rather than enjoyment.
At Kendra's Kustom Nutrition, my goal isn't to force you to eat foods you hate or make you feel judged. Instead, we'll work together to understand your experiences, build confidence around food, and gradually expand your food choices in a way that feels realistic and manageable.
Together, we may work on:
- Understanding what's driving your food preferences
- Gradually increasing food variety at a comfortable pace
- Improving confidence when eating in social situations
- Finding ways to meet your nutrition needs with the foods you currently enjoy
- Reducing anxiety around trying new foods
- Identifying nutrient deficiencies that may be related to a limited diet
If you've had recent lab work completed, I'll help you understand what those results mean and whether your current eating patterns may be contributing to low energy, vitamin or mineral deficiencies, or other health concerns. When appropriate, I'm also happy to collaborate with your physician, therapist, or other healthcare providers to ensure your care is personalized and well-coordinated.
You deserve to enjoy dinner with friends without worrying about the menu. You deserve to travel without packing half your suitcase with "safe foods." You deserve to celebrate holidays, go on dates, attend work events, and make memories without food feeling like the hardest part of the experience.
Expanding your relationship with food isn't about becoming someone else. It's about creating more freedom, more confidence, and more opportunities to fully enjoy your life.
If you're ready to stop feeling embarrassed by your eating habits and start building confidence around food, I'd be honored to help you take that next step.
