Bariatric Nutrition
"I'll meet you where you are—whether you're preparing for surgery, six weeks after surgery, or ten years later wondering why things aren't working the way you hoped."
If you've had bariatric surgery—or you're preparing for it—you don't have to navigate this journey alone.
Bariatric surgery is one of the biggest decisions you'll ever make, and while it can be an incredibly powerful tool, it also changes many aspects of your life. Learning how to nourish your body afterward can feel overwhelming, especially if you weren't given the guidance or ongoing support you needed.
Many of my clients come to me years after surgery feeling discouraged because they've experienced weight regain. Others are only weeks or months out from surgery and simply want to make sure they're building healthy habits from the very beginning.
One thing I've learned is that weight regain is rarely about a lack of willpower. Often, the underlying relationship with food, emotional eating, binge eating, or other disordered eating patterns were never fully addressed before or after surgery. Sometimes clients were simply handed a nutrition packet and expected to figure it out on their own.
At Kendra's Kustom Nutrition, my goal is to change that.
My background includes working in both a Bariatric & Medical Weight Loss Center and a specialized Diabetes Center, where I helped individuals before and after bariatric surgery navigate weight management, nutrition, metabolism, and long-term health.
I believe bariatric nutrition is about much more than protein shakes and vitamin supplements. It's about helping you understand your body, rebuild a healthy relationship with food, protect your muscle and metabolism, and create habits that last for years—not just the first few months after surgery.
I'll be there to guide you every step of the way. Whether you're preparing for surgery, recovering afterward, or trying to get back on track years later, you'll have someone in your corner who understands the challenges you're facing and genuinely wants to help you succeed.
Together, we may work on:
- Meeting protein, hydration, and vitamin goals
- Managing weight regain without guilt or shame
- Addressing emotional eating or disordered eating patterns
- Supporting metabolism and protecting lean muscle
- Understanding body composition and metabolic analysis
- Reviewing lab work for nutrient deficiencies
- Creating realistic habits that fit your life—not just your surgery
When you understand why your body is responding the way it is, food becomes a lot less confusing—and change becomes much more achievable.
You don't have to figure this out alone. I'll meet you where you are, celebrate your progress, help you navigate the setbacks, and walk alongside you through every stage of your bariatric journey.
